1. What do I get when I pay your one time service charge?
You get access to our inventory of no fee apartments through our real estate partner Rent-Direct.com, over 2500 No Fee Apartments in the NYC metro areas. You will set up your own search profile when you register, where you state the minimum size apartment you are looking for and the maximum rent price that you are willing to pay. You will also be able to select which zone you would like to live in.
2. Can I specify the neighborhoods where I'd like to see apartments?
Yes, you can specify the neighborhood zone you would like to search. Selecting specific neighborhoods will help you target your apartment better.
3. How long can I use Affordable-Apartments.com?
The service period is the shorter of 90 days or until you find an apartment.
4. Can I specify my desired apartment size and rent price?
Yes. However, our computer will kick up your maximum price by $200/month. This is so that you can see what is available around the corner from your price range. Sometimes, an extra $25 or $50 per month can make a difference in the size and comfort of your apartment.
5. Do I contact Affordable-Apartments.com when I want to see an apartment?
No. All of the information necessary to view an apartment or contact a landlord/ Managing Agent is on the listing itself. You are responsible for making your own appointments to see and apply for the apartment.
6. Does Affordable-Apartments.com provide customer support?
Yes, we are available to help you. You can email us from our support page on the website or you can email us from your own email program at Support@Affordable-Apartments.com. Responses will be within 24 hours, in most cases sooner. Rent-Direct.com will offer you better support from their website.
10. How do I get my listings updates?
There are 2 ways to get your listings:
- A. You can visit our website Affordable-Apartments.com and log in to view your latest listings.
- B. You will receive an instant and automatic email update every time a new apartment comes in that matches your profile. The email update will have complete information on it about the apartment and how to view it. The email will also have a hot link to the website so that you can see any pictures we may have for the apartment.
11. Once I sign up for service, can I change my search profile?
Yes. Simply email Customer Support: Support@Affordable-Apartments.com or call Rent-Direct.com at 212-807-1414 x203 with the changes you would like, or with any questions about making changes. Please allow up to 24 hours for the changes to go into effect.
12. Can more than one person receive the email updates?
Yes. You can have up to three people receive email updates. Email Customer Support with the email addresses of anyone you wish to add to your account.
13. Do you guarantee that I will be able to rent an apartment through Affordable-Apartments.com?
No. Such a guarantee would be impossible for us to make, as we have no knowledge of your credit history, work history, income, and other factors that go into a landlord making a decision on your application. We give you the choices, you have to handle your rental application in a proper and timely manner. See "Tips on Renting an Apartment" for some pointers and strategy in making your application as attractive to a landlord as possible.
14. Do you guarantee that I will have new listings to view every day?
No. On any given day, there may or may not be new listings for you. The market fluctuates constantly. We do, however, have a full time Listings Department of 5 people calling hundreds of landlords every day looking for new availabilities.
15. Does Affordable-Apartments.com have a refund policy?
Yes. you will need to see the terms of aggreement for your specific plan on Rent-Direct.com. After three days, you are no longer entitled to a refund. To request a refund, please email Customer Support at Support@Affordable-Apartments.com.
16. Is Affordable-Apartments.com licensed?
Yes. Affordable-Apartments.com is a division of Apartments Illustrated, Inc., which is licensed as an AIV (Apartment Information Vendor) by the New York Department of State.
